    Description

    Wonderful Anri Italy vintage cork bottle stopper, known as "The Wine Drinker", it is dual action - lower the lever & he raises his arm to his opening mouth as he drinks his bottle of Italian straw bottled wine. It is bright and cheerful. Action is very clean.
    This is a very popular design of it's time and as they began to sell briskly during the era the typical wood heads were replaced with early plastic heads made to look like the carved heads, this gave them the ability to sell more & create a consistent look.
    The body and base are still hand carved, the faces are still hand painted.
