Vintage ACD Composition Spring Jointed Small 9" Baby Doll

Vintage small baby doll.
This was purchased at an estate sale and I know very little about it.   ACD (American Character Doll?) is stamped on the back.
It appears to be a composition/wood material.  The arms and legs are spring-jointed and work fine.  I don't know if the gown/bonnet are original.  It is sewn up the back so it is not removeable.   It also has a cloth diaper that is pinned on and attached to the dress in the back.
Measures approximated 8 1/2".
It does have condition issues with some cracking and splits (see photos).
