Vintage 1969 Illinois License Plate single dark blue (black) on orange No MX5526

Description

Offered for sale is a single 1969 Illinois license plate with the number MX5526. “Land of Lincoln” is printed across the bottom of the plate.  The letters and numbers are listed as dark blue, but they look black and they are on a bright orange background.  The plate is used and in good condition.  There is minor wear from use that includes edge rubbing wear at the 4 corners.
Also, there is a reaction with the reflective ingredient that causes the orange background to appear stained.
Plus, there is rubbing wear at the bottom holes where the bolts were used to hold the plate to a vehicle.  There is surface darkening and minor rust on the back as shown.  This plate is in good used condition for a plate that has been on a car.
The 12” x 6” plate has no creases, lays relatively flat with only minor stress upturn.  The colors have sharp contrast and are eye-catching.
