You are bidding on a beautifully preserved German Wehmacht cuff tile from WWII. A really nice piece from the liquidation of an old collection, a Parachte Badge made of solid silver with a beautiful engraving is also part of the old collection.
Due to the success of the paratroopers during the western campaign, it was decided in May 1940 to accelerate the reinforcement of the paratrooper troops. As a result, from June 1940 from the II. / Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1, the Paratrooper Regiment 3 was set up as a trunk for the 7th Flieger-Division. The regiment was divided into staff, three battalions and 13th and 14th companies. The regiment's headquarters were in Braunschweig. Due to the long rest period that followed, the regiment enjoyed intensive training. In mid-May 1941, the regiment was moved to Greece by rail and made ready for the planned landing on Crete. The Parachute Jäger Regiment 3 participated in the landing on Crete and was then deployed on the Eastern Front. In 1944 the regiment was engaged in long and bloody battles on the Italian front.
An absolute dream piece, you will be amazed.
