license plate. 1966, motorcycle issue.  8 x 4 inches; red legend on reflective white background.  completely straight and flat with excellent original paint as seen in the photos.  fresh out of the barn!
I cannot stress how uncommon 'completely straight and flat' is for 1951-1978 Illinois plates.  made on 36 gauge steel, they are the thinnest regular state issue plates ever made.  they crumple if you look at them, never mind putting them on a motorcycle!  good quality sheeting, only the factory press bends and curves, bright red paint and even a '66 in the serial number.
