Little Colonel Composition Doll
This beautiful 17" composition, dimpled doll has her original blonde mohair wig, blue tin sleep eyes with brush and
painted lashes, rosy cheeks and a ruby painted open mouth smile revealing 5 tiny teeth. The tin color of her eyes
is great, lashes are
full and her sleep eyes work fine. She is jointed at
her neck, shoulders, and hips with good condition stringing.
Her outfit is stunning and consists of the printed
dimity dress and matching bonnet with a full length all in one slip
and pantaloons onesie underneath. Rayon
socks, and buckle toe oil cloth shoes complete the ensemble. Her clothing
all pins in the back with original tiny gold
pins in place.
This pretty doll and her clothing are all in wonderful, near mint condition. There are a couple hairline cracks in the paint near
her eyes and
a tiny chip out of the composition on her upper lip. No soil, stains or other flaws on her gorgeous
clothing.
I did not find any markings but did not pull her wig up
beyond where it is glued down.
No markings on her back but with that dimpled smile she is obviously a contender for the Shirley Temple market.
