PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
This camera was a gift to me straight the Canon rep himself several years ago. It has been blacked out with electrical tape to discourage thieves and avoid drawing unwanted attention, etc. It has only been used a handful of times over the several years I have had it, mostly coming out of storage only to test, charge, and clean.
HOWEVER I am considering it well used and "partially defective" at this time but more investigation is definitely needed. In fact, it may not even be an issue at all for the right person...here is why:
Essentially what is happening is it is having trouble talking to the NEW lenses I have on hand and the mirror is repeatedly either freezing or getting stuck after every 2-3 shots. It works as it should for these few shots, and simply must be turned on and off again to remedy. Using an old school manual Canon lens however, and even a Nikon lens with a mount, gave no issues. To my knowledge there is no other fault or defective part of the camera on any level. Since the true nature of this problem is unknown, and I do not want to mislead anyone, I am playing it safe and pricing the camera accordingly.
The battery is fully charged, and ready to go. This is a wonderful value for someone that is willing to try troubleshooting the lens problem, already has older lenses on hand, or perhaps is even willing to give the mechanism a little cleaning/servicing.
It comes with everything that was in the box when I received it (see photos) including original cords for computer and television connectivity, and discs for troubleshooting, etc. These cameras were easily over k once upon a time, and they are still incredibly capable and well loved pieces of kit.
I am also including a copy of the wonderful and highly recommended Ansel Adams autobiography. Any and all photographers amateur or otherwise are likely to love this book.
