Bronze Star Illinois License Plate Pair No. BZ827 Military / older design

Up for sale is a pair
(2 plates)
of Bronze Star License Plates.
The Illinois plates feature a graphic of the Bronze Star Medal and have the BZ prefix.
The mating pair of Military plates are numbered BZ 827.
These are the older design Bronze Star Plates with ‘Land of Lincoln’ at the top right.
The current Bronze Star plates have a different design with ‘Land of Lincoln’ at the bottom.
The plates are the standard sized 6” x 12”.
Both plates are used with marks and road wear.
The rear plate with the registration sticker has the plate surface removed and shows the metal at the sticker location indentation.
The yellow June
2003 sticker remains and there is another sticker under it.
I do not know but my guess is that there were a couple more previous years of stickers and the surface came off when the stickers were taken off and revealed the base metal.
Additionally, there is rubbing wear at the 4 bolt holes on both plates from attaching to the vehicle.
Both plates have a slight upturn from the original pressing stresses.
Except as mentioned, the condition of the plates is good with minimal road grit, no fading, no rust, and the plates lay relatively flat (as shown).
It is unusual to find a mating pair of Illinois Bronze Star license plates.
The backs of the plates are rust free and relatively clean.
